Privacy Policy — OpenAI Pixel Helper

OpenAI Pixel Helper is a developer tool (a Chrome extension) that helps merchants and developers verify that the OpenAI ads pixel (oaiq) is installed correctly on a web page. It shows which pixel IDs are initialized and which tracking events fire while you browse.

Data collection

We do not collect, store, transmit, sell, or share any user data.

• The extension has no backend. It never sends any data to us or to any third party.
• Everything the extension detects (pixel IDs, event names and parameters, network request metadata) is kept only in your browser's temporary session storage, per tab, and is deleted automatically when the tab is closed or the browser exits.
• The extension contains no analytics, no telemetry, and no remote code.

Why the extension needs its permissions

• Access to all websites: the OpenAI pixel can be installed on any website, so the helper must be able to inspect whichever page you choose to open — the same model used by similar pixel-debugging tools.
• webRequest: used only to observe requests to OpenAI pixel endpoints (bzr.openai.com, bzrcdn.openai.com) so the extension can confirm the SDK loaded and events were sent. Request contents are shown to you locally and never leave your browser.
• storage: stores the per-tab detection results in session storage only.
• tabs: reads the active tab's URL to show which site is being inspected.

Changes to this policy

If the extension's behaviour ever changes in a way that affects privacy, this page will be updated before the new version is published.
